Infectious Disease Trials
Georgetown University Hospital AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU)
Our CTU is unique, as it is the only infectious disease unit in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area that offers access to federal as well as pharmaceutical (industry) sponsored clinical trials. The ACTU has extensive experience in the drug development of new anti-infective and antiretroviral agents, as well as epidemiological studies.
We have been actively involved in HIV/AIDS clinical research for the past fifteen years. We receive federal funding from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) as a member of the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group (AACTG) network and as a major site for the Women’s Intra-Agency HIV Study (WIHS). We are also a site for the NIAID sponsored Multi-site Study for Solid Organ Transplantation in HIV Subjects.
