Mission Statement
Georgetown University?s Clinical Trials Office (CTO) was established in 2000. Our mission is to provide an array of services aimed at:
- Assisting investigators with the implementation and administration of clinical research studies.
- Providing potential research study participants with up to date information about ongoing clinical studies at Georgetown University Hospital (GUH).
- Bringing Georgetown investigators and clinical study sponsors together in an effort to promote the growth of clinical research at GUH.
We provide an expanding range of services to the Georgetown researchers and their staff, which will further enable them to excel at their clinical research. Our goal is serve as a one-stop resource for GUH investigators seeking to conduct clinical research trials. Our principal responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Central point-of-contact for information about the clinical research process at GUH.
- New study cost analysis and budgeting.
- Research participant registration coordination.
- Research participant billing oversight.
- Liaison to departmental research administrators and clinical service departments participating in clinical trials at GUH.
- Administration of internal funds flow procedures to insure proper payment of clinical departments participating in clinical trials.
- Tracking of research activities for reporting purposes.
- Stimulation of new clinical research activities.
- Assistance with clinical research staff recruitment.
- Assistance with study advertisement (internally and externally) and patient recruitment.
The Clinical Trials Office will continue to expand its services to meet the needs of Georgetown researchers and their staff. Our commitment to the clinical research community and Georgetown University will help provide our investigators with the support needed to be leaders in clinical research.
